The next few years will reshape how Metro Manila and nearby provinces connect — but not all projects are moving at the same pace.
1️⃣ Solaire QC
Opened in May 2024, this P50-billion entertainment complex drew initial buzz but hasn’t meaningfully lifted real-estate values in Quezon City’s fringes. The area’s market remains more dependent on office recovery than casino foot traffic.
2️⃣ Bulacan Airport (NMIA)
San Miguel’s New Manila International Airport is now slated to begin operations in late 2028 (from the original 2027). Full completion — designed to handle 100 million passengers — still has no fixed date. Once operational, expect a major tourism and logistics boom as north-bound travelers bypass EDSA entirely.
3️⃣ C6 / Southeast Metro Manila Expressway
Right-of-way clearing continues, with completion now targeted between 2027-2028. The expressway should slash travel from Quezon City to Taguig to about 35 minutes and pass directly through Ortigas East, a potential multiplier for land values in Antipolo and the east corridor.
4️⃣ Metro Manila Subway
Originally promised to open two stations by 2028, the DOTr now concedes partial operations are unlikely before 2032. Budget cuts and tunneling bottlenecks continue to drag progress, tempering expectations for the country’s first underground mass-transit line.
5️⃣ Pasig River Expressway (PAREX)
Once hailed as a 15-minute Manila-to-Rizal shortcut, the project is on hold following environmental and heritage backlash. It’s not canceled, but remains under review pending new alignment studies.
6️⃣ Cavite–Batangas Expressway (CBEX)
Both SMC and MPTC are vying to build this 30 km link from Silang to Nasugbu, trimming travel to the beaches from nearly 2 hours to 45 minutes. Still awaiting final government approval — but a future win for southern leisure corridors.
7️⃣ Bataan–Cavite Interlink Bridge
At 32 km, this will be among Southeast Asia’s longest. Detailed design is underway; construction could start 2026, completion by 2030. When finished, Central Luzon and Southern Tagalog will finally be a single drive apart.
